Juan Downey was a pioneer of video art in Latin America. This Chilean artist spent most of his career in New York and exhibited his work at the Whitney Museum. Back in the 1960’s and 1970’s he discussed topics such as ecology, intercultural aspects and globalisation through extraordinary projects such as a video voyage in the depths of the Amazonia.
