New National Gallery exhibition, Thomas Demand

German photographer Thomas Demand builds 1:1 paper models of the notorious scenes of political and societal events and photographs them. Thomas Demand has been consistently exploring the collective visual memory of our media society. His fame has reached unprecedented heights. In 2009 he had a solo show at the Neue Nationalgalerie (New National Gallery) in Berlin.

Exhibition at MASS MoCA, Anselm Kiefer

German painter and sculptor Anselm Kiefer, flagship of European Neoexpressionism, had an exhibition in early 2010 at the MASS MoCA museum in North Adams, Massachusetts. Artforum magazine describes Kiefer’s art as sensuous and mesmerizing images through which we gain entry to his arcane mindscape of ancient and recent history, philosophy, botany, Nordic myth, National Socialism, alchemy, and Wagner.
