This is a video produced for the opening of the Buckminster Fuller Exhibition at the MCA in Chicago, Illinois.

BUCKMINSTER FULLER: This was a piece shown at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago for the Buckminster Fuller exhibit. I was given free reign by the MCA in filming the exhibit before the opening.

In 2002, Ned Kahn worked with the staff of Technorama, the major science center in Switzerland, and their architects, Durig and Rami, to create a facade for the building which is composed of thousands of aluminum panels that move in the air currents and reveal the complex patterns of turbulence in the wind.

FLARE is a modular system to create a dynamic hull for facades or any building or wall surface. Acting like a living skin, it allows a building to express, communicate and interact with its environment. |
