Homeland, Juan de Dios Marfil Atienza

Yesterday I went to La Tabacalera of Madrid (a self-managed place in the neighborhood of Lavapiés) to see “A Prophet” by Jacques Audiard within the program of La 7ª Muestra de Cine de Lavapiés. I would have thought that we were in Berlin if someone had told me so; there was baked pizza in the place, babies, dogs and all sizes, styles and colours of chairs to sit down and enjoy the cinema.
Before the film we could enjoy this magical short film of Juan de Dios Marfil Atienza.

Juan de Dios Marfil Atienza, from Ceuta (Spain) got a special mention for his short film Homeland in the International Animation Festival of South Corea “SICAF”.  Freehand drawing and original music by Juan Dios Marfil himself. This animation talks about unachievable goals.
