Belgian Conceptual-Surrealist artist Marcel Broodthaers was one of the most peculiar and mysterious characters of 20th century art. He is most notorious for his meta-artistic life-long project “Musée d’Art Moderne, Départment des Aigles” which questioned the institutional side of art museums. He also made 50-odd films. This one from 1974, the year of his death, depicts a series of pictures and paintings of the North Sea through history.
