Yes, china uses bamboo, quite a tough material. I still think that steel scaffolding is a better one as it is reusable and the strength it can take does not change over the period.

Some amazing buildings. In the video still at the top, though – it must quite hard for the builders to tell what’s scaffolding and what’s building!

I was just thinking when I read this quote…

“architecture should be thought “…as a whole, as something within but also around the building, in its surroundings (…). It’s just about turning an existing place into a better place.”

…that more architects should follow this type of crede to the art, or at least demonstrate it more in there creations.

Benedetta Tagliabue is a incredible architect i remember the thesis she did on New Yorks Central Park years ago and have been interested in her ever since.
