Studio Banana TV interviews Josechu Dávila, enfant terrible of the Spanish contemporary art scene.
Since 1983 he has done numerous exhibitions, actions and installations in different cities in Europe, America and Asia. He usually works with the void and nothingness, the lack of contents and the “no-man’s land” that this generates. Subtraction and Addition of contents (of a rock concert, of press text, of cinema scenes…), paranormal phenomena, waste (of pictorial frames, of space, of exhibition time), Cancellations (of a 17th c. painting) or hyperrealistic copies (of a videoart piece) are some of the mechanisms he uses to approach a void that does not allow for any concessions.
He works with Salvador Díaz art gallery in Madrid.
