Studio Banana TV interviews Juan Herreros

Studio Banana TV interviews Juan Herreros, a world-famous Spanish architect.

For 25 years he was part of the renowned studio Ábalos & Herreros until its split up in 2008. Ábalos&Herreros are authors of late 20th century Spanish architecture masterpieces such as the Gordillo House, the Valdemingomez waste-treatment centre in Madrid, the library in Usera or the Woerman tower in Las Palmas.

In 2009 Herreros arquitectos won the international competition for the new Munch/Steneresen Museum in Oslo, Norway.

Herreros Arqitectos is a collaborative practice where the process of design is a continuous conversation between all the agents that contribute to the complexity of building. Its internal structure is divided into four areas: projects & competitions, media & communication, research & development, and on-site management. This process structure is directed by Juan Herreros through a platform of architects, with added technical and administrative staff. This platform is then networked into a broad variety of renowned consultants & collaborators in order to explore solutions informed by the fields of environmental engineering, landscaping, architectural and cultural production.

Juan Herreros teaches at the ETSAM school in Madrid and at Columbia University in New York.
